Last year, more than 22,000 people in Maricopa County were homeless. They had no place of their own to sleep, keep their belongings or take care of themselves. Imagine going days or weeks without bathing, changing your clothes or brushing your teeth.
At Paz de Cristo, our guests get to take a hot shower with soap and shampoo. During showers, guests receive hygiene items and fresh clothing, including a new pair of socks, underwear, and a t-shirt. Adult clothing is also available through our Clothing Closet, which is open on Mondays and Fridays from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Professional clothing sets job seekers up for success in their interviews, and casual wear is available through our Clothing Closet. Free haircuts are given by licensed cosmetologists and barbers.
Our guests are transformed inside and out. They leave standing about ten feet tall with a whole new frame of mind. They have hope for a brighter future.

We want to help you feel confident and ready for new opportunities. Alongside everyday apparel and professional interview attire from our Clothing Closet, we ensure your basic needs are met. During our shower program, guests receive hygiene items as well as fresh clothing, including clean underwear. Depending on recent community donations, we may also have additional items available, such as shoes, blankets, and other essential supplies.
Please note that our Clothing Closet is geared toward adults, and we do not have children’s clothing available.
Yes, you can absolutely ask for specific sizes and items when you visit. Our coordinators do their best to find the right fit from our current inventory. Whether you need casual jeans and t-shirts or a professional outfit to look your best for a job interview, we are here to help you find exactly what you need.
We certainly do! We adjust our inventory throughout the year to make sure you’re prepared for the changing Arizona seasons. During the summer, we focus on providing lightweight attire and extra hygiene kits to help everyone stay cool and clean in the desert heat. When the winter months arrive, we shift our focus to providing warmer gear like jackets, hoodies, and blankets to help you stay protected from the colder nights. Everything depends on the donations we receive, so it’s a good idea to check in with our Clothing Closet on Monday or Friday afternoons to see what seasonal gear is currently in stock.

You can absolutely volunteer to sort through incoming donations, ensuring that only high-quality, clean items make it to the racks, or assist during our distribution hours on Monday and Friday afternoons.
