Join us this September as we take action against hunger.
This September, join Paz de Cristo for Hunger Action Month and help us make a difference in the lives of individuals and families facing hunger and food insecurity in our community.
Every action matters. Whether you give, volunteer, or simply spread the word, you can help ensure our neighbors have access to the food and support they need.

Hunger Doesn’t Take a Month Off
In 2024, 617,180 people in Maricopa County were food insecure, 195,550 of them children. That’s nearly 22,000 more than the year before. In the congressional district covering Mesa and the East Valley, the number reached 119,540.
Our Executive Director, Jackie Shelley, wrote about what those numbers look like from inside our kitchen in the Daily Independent on September 1.
The neighbors who sit down at our tables this September are the same ones who were here in July, and who will be here in December. That’s why we serve a free, made-from-scratch meal every single night of the year.
Anyone who arrives hungry leaves fed.— Jackie Shelley, Executive Director
